My husband Steve and I joined the Sonoma A's chapter in 1990 and have had our 1929 Roadster for about 25 years. With our 4 children raised we became involved in the club and our love of ballroom dancing took a back seat. After years of touring the west coast, we decided to attend the National meet in Mansfield in 2006. We drove 8600 miles in 49 days going coast to coast, seeing and enjoying this beautiful country.

I first became interested in Era Fashions in 1994 when the Sonoma A's hosted the NCRG Roundup in Rohnert Park, CA. I was enchanted when people started arriving in their Era clothing. Edie Jones helped me get started by encouraging me to read the Era Fashion Guidelines and to take the tests to become a fashion judge. The fashion guidelines taught me what to look for and purchase, and to be a fair and impartial judge. After meeting the judging requirements and presenting a seminar on Fun Fashions at our 2003 NCRG Roundup in Healdsburg, I became a Master Judge.

My main interest is reproduction era fashions and I have many era patterns. I've sewn my own frocks and like the idea of blending new and era as a way of encouraging more participation. Many original fashions are becoming fragile with age and need to be kept for judging, while reproduction or fun fashions can be worn, washed and packed without worrying about wrinkles or damage.

It's an honor to have been chosen to serve on the Era Fashion Committee and to contribute my expertise in fashions. I am eager to help the hobby grow and become a fun event for more of our members.
