Here is an opportunity to have a unique restoration project and wind up with a chassis for a second project.

You can use the restored chassis to move the SW Sedan onto, or use the restored chassis for another Model A Body that you have or will acquire.

1931 SW SEDAN TOLD OR KNOWN FACTS:

The SW Sedan is a California Car spending much of its life in Orange County (Southern California). At the time I purchaed it, I was told it was used as a functioning “Novelty” Taxi Cab. Prior to that time I have no information as to how the vehicel was used.

-The car has a “NON OP” Clear California  Title. It has black, with orange numbers, California license plates.

-The SW Taxi roof attached light bar has been restored with new wiring, etc. It has a “clockwork” mechanism Taxi Meter.

-I’m still unpacking boxes of parts that came with the car, and in some instances putting them back on the car. I plan on putting the car’s hood back on the car along with other loose parts that I come up with.

-The gas tank has been professionally chemically dipped and cleaned

-Unique items came with the car. A special Radiator Cap and Rear Tail Light assembly. The restored dash has a brass 1931 California Chauffeur Badge attached to it (Passenger side corner).

-The steering column has been completely restored. Another unrestored steering column will be included with the sale.

-The body of the car appears solid and much of the outer paint has been removed revealing good sheet metal. It may look rough in the photos, but the sheet metal is solid. A nice California car body.

-The radiator has been professionally cleaned and re-cored. Included is another radiator that has not been restored.

-The stainless steel radiator shell is in very nice condition.

The front and rear bumper assemblies had been repainted and are now powder coated black to present the car as a commercial Taxi Vehicle.

There is a vintage flip up and down installed “For Hire” sign visable from the front windshield.

There is a wood kit and body block kit

The Bell Housing has been thoroughly gone through and retored

-There is a custom battery bracket that can be re-installed on the firewall if desired.

-I’m currently collecting all the removed car pieces to go with the sale of the vehicle.

THE 1931 CHASSIS FACTS: (NO EXPENSE SPARED IN IT’S REASSEMBLY)

-The complete Chassis came from a vehicle that was being Hot Rodded.

-Everything was removed from the Chassis Frame and the frame was powder coated black.

-The original strong running engine was kept; however, not rebuilt, but gone over by a Model A Ford Mechanic. New oil pump, new gaskets, etc. New timing gear installed. I know there was some engine valve work done, but unsure exactly was was performed on tghe valve system.

-The starter motor has been restored and converted to a push button starter system,

-There are new modern day shocks installed, a new (Cling’s) hydraulic brake system (using some vintage backing plates), new front and rear springs, the transmission has been rebuilt, the transmission shift tower is new, all new front suspension parts, the steering column has been completely rebuilt, new intake and exhaust manifolds installed, a new carb installed, new timing gear, new clutch and pressure plate, new leakless water pump, new distributator, etc.

This can be a fun project with a bonus additional ’31 Ford chassis, with duplicate parts (transmission, engine, etc) remaining when finished.

Make an appointment to see the car and chassis. You’ll have 8 tires to kick between both of them that are offered for sale.
