Bob Johnson has been a MAFCA member since 1992 and has been a member of the Judging Standards Committee since 2017, assisting in revisions 4 and 5 of the Judging Standards and Restoration Guidelines. Bob designed, developed, tested and implemented a digital scoring platform for MAFCA’s vehicle judging. He has also created a thumb drive containing ‘The First Fifty Years of the Restorer magazine’ and has since expanded it to include 65 years including a comprehensive searchable index.
Bob is a Master Vehicle Judge and has participated in vehicle judging at the Regional and National level. Most of Bob’s work has been done in the background receiving zero accolades however he was recognized as Volunteer of the Year a few years ago. He has also participated in Fashion Judging at regional and national meets for many years and has served in many positions on local boards and recently as President of the Marin Model A Club.
And finally, Bob is a master Hubley car builder and racer. Many have sought his advice in building the fastest model cars but he always seems to hold back one or two secrets. So if you come up against Bob on the ‘race track’ don’t be surprised if he schools’ you.
