When many of you receive your July/August issue of the Restorer most chapters’ nomination committees will already be preparing for their upcoming local elections in the coming weeks. This important job is to select those critical positions of leadership within your chapter. Taking a leadership position in your local club is an excellent way of helping to insure its success and continued good fortune. Appling your talents and experience to your local chapter in any one of offices available is a rewarding experience not only for your chapter but for you as well. We all have been recipients of the talents and leadership of many others who have stepped up in these roles and now is your opportunity to do so . When that nominating committee call comes please step forward and say yes to the opportunity and or better yet step forward and volunteer. If this year is not the year to serve, I would ask that you take a moment and thank those that do.
At this midpoint in the year it’s also an excellent time to look around at your fellow club members and officers and ask yourself whose contributions make a difference. A MAFCA Service Award is a special way to say a thank you to those who step up every day and every year and make a difference. It can be the editor of your newsletter, or your website, or it can be your club historian who works to maintain and records you chapter’s history. It can be that someone who always is there to help get someone’s car back on the road or that person who makes it a point to make sure new members always feels welcome. No matter what makes them special to your club you will find the process of recognition is easy with the Service Award application found under the Chapter Awards menu on mafca.com. Processing these award requests is a real pleasure for your Chapter Coordinator.
Looking forward to seeing you and your “A” on the road,
Will
