1931 Ford Model A Standard Phaeton
Standard Phaeton project for sale. Body is a 1930 style with the running boards attached to the splash aprons and front fenders with the splash apron pieces attached. Project was started decades ago but was never finished. Newspapers that wrapped some of the new parts date back to the early 1980s. Project is pretty complete and comes with over $6k in brand new parts. See the photos for what is included and overall condition of the project. Project was assembled in order to make transportation easier. Project was in pieces when found at the prior owner’s estate.
Frame: Frame had been powder coated in the past. Coating was removed to find the VIN
Body: Complete body with only areas of light surface rust. Body was stripped in the past and had primer applied. Will need some body work but no real structural work. No attempt to align any panels was done so photos do not show correct alignment. All four door latches are included as well as some handles.
New Parts: Project comes with many new big ticket parts worth over $6k.
-New LeBaron Bonney interior including new seat springs with seat upholstery installed from LeBaron Bonney. This kit also includes new side and door panels, and new mats.
-New Top Irons with hardware included and chromed windshield upright stantions. These are reproduction irons that were made and delivered years ago. The newspaper wrapped around the hardware is dated from 1981.
-New LeBaron Bonney Convertible Top still in unopened original packaging included. There may even be side curtains in the bag. Not sure as I did not open the bag.
-New Body Wood Kit included. Kit is from Cubel many years ago. Cubel’s is still in business found at www.fordwood.com. I do not know if every piece is there but should not be missing many if any are missing.
Chassis: The chassis is where the most work will be required. Engine is a Model B engine connected to a Model A transmission. Engine will probably need rebuilt. No effort was made to see if the engine turns over. The brakes had been converted to hydraulic in the past. Wheels had been coated but will need redone.
Call me with and questions and for additional information and photos. This project will make a great car once restored.
