Rebuild/Remanufactured Model B Engine outright no core required

$6,500.00
/

This is a Diamond block, manufactured in the late 1930s for use as an industrial engine. It features a counterbalanced crankshaft with inserted main bearings and sleeved cylinders, which enhance cooling performance.

The engine is equipped with .030” oversize Egge pistons—the same recommended for the Burtz engine. The connecting rods are brand-new, inserted rods from Antique Engine Rebuilding. It also includes stainless steel valves, with oversized intake valves for improved airflow.

The camshaft has been reground by Jim Brierley using his touring grind, offering strong low-end torque and solid high-end power. The cylinder head is a 6.5:1 Burtz head, and the 30-pound flywheel is also from Burtz. A Ford V-8 pressure plate is installed, reducing pedal effort for smoother shifting.

This engine has been test run and performs exceptionally—strong, quiet, and smooth. As a Model B engine, it offers significant improvements over the Model A. Unlike the A’s gravity-fed oiling system, the B uses pressurized oiling for the main and cam bearings, improving reliability. The bearing surface area is 20% larger, and the output shaft cross-section is 50% greater than that of the Model A—making it a nearly indestructible engine, with durability approaching that of the Burtz engine.

Please note: The price does not include the water pump, fan, distributor, manifolds, carburetor, or starter. These components can be provided at additional cost. We also offer an FSI automatic solid-state distributor, which can be professionally timed in our shop.
