This Model B engine is a vast improvement over the Model A engine. It incorporates a pressurized oiling system for the cam bearings and main bearings; we install modern stainless-steel valves and adjustable lifters and hardened valve seats.  The crankshaft is massive compared to a Model A crankshaft, the bearings being 2-inch diameter on the mains and 1 7/8″ on the rods.  It is a forged crankshaft, not cast like the Burtz engine.  It has large counter balancers forged as one piece into the crankshaft.  These engines are perfectly balanced and can run up over 4,000 RPM with complete smoothness and little vibration.  We install a Brierly touring cam and modern seals front and rear.  Also, a new front pulley, the main bearings and the connecting rods use modern inserts, supplied by Antique Engine Rebuilding.  We also sell Short Blocks, no cores are required.  go to www.amuffler.com, then “For Sale”, Model B engines.
