I hope you are enjoying touring in your Model A—I know I am. The chapters I belong to are very active, and it’s great to have some kind of Model A activity almost every weekend.
Yes, the price of gas is high, but I think of touring in the Model A as entertainment—which makes me feel better.
Touring was high on the agenda for those attending the MAFCA National Convention in Pendleton, Oregon. Jack Remillard and his crew did a fabulous job welcoming more than 350 registrants to enjoy the scenic foothills of the Blue Mountains.
Model A’s could be seen roaming the historic area all week. And for those of us attending Model A-less, hearing that distinctive Model A exhaust was music to our ears.
The convention featured: Seminars (technical and fashion), Wonderful tours, a great raffle and hospitality room and time to explore the local Pendleton area. And thrown in were a couple of unique events namely the Cowboy Breakfast Dinner and the Rough Rider Tour through the back country. The convention finished with a successful final banquet where we congratulated the vehicle and fashion judging award winners.
My heartfelt thanks go out to all the members of the Northwest Regional Group for hosting a fabulous convention.
Next on the agenda is the National Awards Banquet in Cincinnati, December 11–12, 2026. Our host will be the Ohio Valley Region Model A Club, and they are looking forward to showing off their area.
Looking ahead to 2027, the Model A Ford Club of Colorado is planning an amazing National Tour in Durango, Colorado, June 13–18, 2027.
Please mark both events on your calendar and visit www.mafca.com for more information.
A reminder that Revision 5 of the Restoration Guidelines & Judging Standards is ready to order. This revision includes updated information, new sections, and many new color pictures.
It’s a great reference and a worthwhile addition to any Model A library.
Until next time, please feel free to reach out to any board member with questions or ideas.
