The Southwest Model A’s, the hosts of the cancelled
2024 MAFCA National Convention in Ruidoso New
Mexico, have exciting news!
When the Convention was cancelled due to the fires and
floods that devastated the region, the Southwest Model
A’s were left with the donated items to the pick-a-prize
room that were to be a fundraiser for the event.
On a one-time basis, working together with MAFCA, we
were able to develop an auction site on MAFCA’s new
web platform that will make these items available for purchase via online bidding.
The Southwest Model A’s have been working very hard to recover financially from
the losses the event has incurred. Currently there is still a projected financial
shortfall. MAFCA is committed to covering any financial loss to any host group of
a national event and will enthusiastically do so for this event.
The intent of MAFCA and the Southwest Model A’s is to pay the outstanding
financial obligations as well as have the Southwest Model A’s be financially
stable to continue as a group going forward. MAFCA can and will do this to
support our Chapters and Special Interest Groups that are hosting national
events.
You are invited to bid on the wonderful items being offered and know that not
only will you be receiving some incredible items, but funds will also go toward
reducing the overall losses and continuing the hobby we all know and love.
